International Cooperation Program: International University of Turkic States (IUTS)

The International University of Turkic States (IUTS) is an international university established in Tashkent, the capital of Uzbekistan, with the goal of building a common higher education and science ecosystem across the Turkic world. Founded in 2025 by a decree of the President of Uzbekistan (PQ-24, 24.01.2025), the university delivers its education through joint undergraduate programs conducted with Türkiye's leading universities. Graduates receive a diploma from the partner university in Türkiye in addition to their Uzbekistan diploma.

Istanbul Technical University is one of the four founding partner universities of IUTS, together with Middle East Technical University, Hacettepe University, and Ege University.

IUTS Electrical Engineering Program

The undergraduate Electrical Engineering program at IUTS is conducted in partnership with Istanbul Technical University. Our department collaborates with IUTS in developing and delivering the academic content of the program. This cooperation covers education and research activities, student and faculty exchange, joint academic programs, and the development of scientific projects.

Cooperation Process

ITU Rector Prof. Dr. Hasan Mandal attended the IUTS evaluation meetings held in Uzbekistan on 23-24 May 2026 and shared his assessments regarding the Electrical Engineering program launched by ITU within IUTS. During the meetings, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed covering cooperation in education and research, student and faculty exchange, joint academic programs, and the development of scientific projects.
